Startups are built on ambition. But not every company ends in acquisition. Most end in closure, and for a long time, that ending had no standard.
When I shut down my own company, I felt that gap personally. What could have been a manageable process became months of confusion, fragmented advice, and the persistent feeling that I was doing it wrong. Not because I wasn't capable. Because the infrastructure simply didn't exist. There was no trusted resource, no clear playbook, and no professional category built around this moment.
That experience is why we built SimpleClosure.
We launched with a straightforward belief: the startup journey deserves support at every stage—including the end. Formation has a standard. Building has a standard. Shutting down should too. So we set out to build one.
Three years later, more than 6,000 companies have trusted us to support them. Responsibly, completely, and with the rigor this moment deserves. Behind every one of those companies are founders who have poured real time, real energy, and real belief into something. That’s not lost on us. It shapes how we do this work every single day.
Because clean closure isn’t just about wrapping up the past. It protects founders from the fees, penalties, and loose ends that follow them forward. It closes the chapter—fully and properly—so they can get back to what they do best: building and creating.
Today, we’re introducing a new look for SimpleClosure. But beyond the visual refresh, this is a category statement. We’ve spent three years proving that shutdown deserves professional handling. The new brand is a clearer, sharper expression of that commitment, and of the standard we intend to keep setting.
The startup ecosystem has incredible infrastructure for building. We’re here to make sure it has the same for closing.
To every founder, lawyer, accountant, investor, and partner who has trusted us along the way: thank you. You’ve helped prove this problem is worth solving for. And to those navigating closure during an already difficult moment in the founder journey—we’re here, and we’re ready.
Here’s to the standard this moment has always deserved.
